Matching the image as originally displayed on a workstation with the hardcopy print is often a challenge. Look Up Table (LUT) support and the ability to support the Grayscale Standard Display Function (GSDF) are critical. Both the printer and the workstation need to be configured correctly. What is needed is the support of the presentation LUT to be sent with the DICOM protocol that includes the correction that makes it consistent with what is seen on the monitor. Both the workstation and the printer require the support of the presentation LUT storage SOP class to allow the LUT to be downloaded, and then the capability to refer to this LUT when actually performing the print commands. |
