AE Title

AE Title or AET is an abbreviation for Application Entity Title.  An AE Title is used by an Application Entity (AE) to identify itself.

AE Titles need to be locally unique and are typically managed by a system administrator. They are case-sensitive and 16 bytes long. They are to be configured prior to initializing a DICOM connection.

Calling AE Title- The Application Entity (AE) that initiates the DICOM messaging service request. It is based on the Source DICOM Application Name. This parameter identifies the Application Entity (AE) that shall contain the requestor of the A-ASSOCIATE service. It is based on the Source DICOM Application Name. The Calling AE title may or may not be the same as the Initiator Address present in DICOM Messages exchanged over the association.

Called AE Title- The Application Entity (AE) that is the intended acceptor of the service request. It is based on the Destination DICOM Application Name. This parameter identifies the Application Entity that shall contain the intended acceptor of the A-ASSOCIATE service. It is based on the Destination DICOM Application Name. The Called AE title may or may not be the same as the Receiver Address present in DICOM Messages exchanged over the association.
