The Cross-enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I) Integration Profile is a part of the IHE Radiology Technical Framework.

This profile specifies actors and transactions that allow users to share imaging information across enterprises. This profile depends on the IT Infrastructure Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS) profile. 

This profile defines the information to be shared such as sets of DICOM instances (including images, evidence documents, and presentation states), diagnostic imaging reports provided in a ready-for-display form.

Since this profile depends on and extends the IT Infrastructure XDS Profile, including the use of terms defined in XDS (e.g., affinity domain, submission set, etc.) an understanding of the XDS profile is assumed.
